A couple of weeks ago I was part of Illustrato.rs first exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London. I’ve never been to the Mall before, but have heard of it, since my Uncle has shown work there. I loved the space and felt so proud to be showing my work there with some amazing artist and illustrators.
My puppets where a pain to display. They looked nice in the display case …..but they never wanted to stay in the poses. Think I need to make some wire stands for them.
View Larger Just submitted my Crocodile for an exhibition in June. Felt so weird handing him over to strangers. I think I get too attached to my art :(
I wanted to have ago at dressmaking, the last time I made a dress was when I was 15 and i by accident sewed my dress to my mannequin.
My sister wears a lot of vintage dresses and I noticed most of them have been hand made. I brought an 1950’s pattern and teamed up with my sister in making her a dress. Today was cutting up the pattern and fabric…… it took all day!
I decided to do a step by step of how I make my puppets. It would be good for me if i can document the process so if i decided to make a copy of one character, it’d be easier to remember.
View Larger This is a painting I did yesterday of my mum. I think it’s very nice painting of her, but she wasn’t happy I decided to do a painting of her when she had no makeup.
The scan isn’t great. I either need to do smaller paintings or get a bigger scanner. I can’t stand scanning in the same image in 4 times and put it back together on photoshop.
