I am one of those people who can’t sit on there hands and do nothing all day. It’s an annoying quality that drives people crazy. To keep myself entertained I decided to take up sewing and have been collecting 50p dress patterns from car boot fairs and old curtains from charity shops.
My sister Amber is into the vintage revival trend and it has inspired me to make vintage looking garments with a modern twist. I have never made a dress before from a pattern and I am hoping this experience will help improve my puppet making skills.
It’s a good thing we did our research, because a modern size 12 in the 1950’s was a size 16. Amber and I found a roll of 1950’s patterned fabric in a vintage shop, which we thought would be fantastic for our dress. We finished the dress but found the pattern was to over powering. Also I got a little to excited and sewed Amber into the dress.
